Teach didactic or laboratory courses in the discipline of dental hygiene.
Maintain Dental Hygienist licensure in the State of Maryland.
Work with members of the business communities and City agencies to provide clinical/field experiences and possible job placement for students where relevant.
Maintain office hours; advise students and guide them in relation to their educational growth.
Assist in admissions and registration as assigned.
Participate in the evaluation of courses/curricula.
Develop or revise course syllabi/curricula as needed incorporating a variety of instructional techniques.
Participate in departmental and College-wide recruitment and recruitment and retention efforts.
Assist in textbook selection and grant preparation as required.
Assist in ordering supplies and equipment and budget preparation.
Assist the Chair and/or course coordinator in orienting full-time faculty.
Serve on program, departmental and College-wide committees and to attend all required meetings.
Maintain and update procedures and policies in relation to changes in federal regulations and requirements in conjunction with program faculty.
Prepare for and participate in accreditation visits.
Accept special assignments which may be required to maintain the quality and growth of the Department.
Participate in writing recommendations for students.
Supervise adjunct faculty when necessary and to assume other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Req. candidate profile :
Qualifications:
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Maryland.
Excellent verbal & written skills and computer literacy and commitment to the philosophy of the community college and work experience in a multicultural environment.
Teaching experience in an accredited Dental Hygiene program preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene or related discipline required. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
2-4 years Clinical experience in Dental Hygiene patient care.
