This program is part of the Specialized and Integrated services division of the YWCA of Seattle-King County-Snohomish County. In support of the YWCA mission we value and champion anti- racism practices and procedures. The Program Manager implements the East Fir School Age program’s after school and summer program activities for homeless children 6-12 years old living in Seattle’s YWCA family time limited housing programs.
Services include but are not limited to:
School enhancement activities, sports and field experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements program services for program participants between the ages of 6 to 12 years old
Provides direct service
Helps youth develop and use positive social skills through active listening and problem solving
Provides appropriate supervision of youth
Maintains and reinforces safety and health standards
Supervises assistant level staff and assigned volunteers
Works in collaboration with other youth serving sites and staff to promote integration of services
Works with Housing Staff to recruit youth as program participants
Manages daily operations of the site
Develops positive relationships with youth and parents
Maintains necessary records and completes reports (USDA, United Way, City of Seattle and Private funders)
Purchases program supplies and necessary equipment in coordination with Homeless Children’s Services Director and Associate Director
Communicates with School educators on student’s needs
Makes school site visits to communicate with school staff
Updating and reviewing students files as required
Transports youth in program van as needed
Performs household and clerical tasks as required and assigned
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Req. candidate profile :
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 6 yrs exp. and bachelor’s degree in Social work or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered; STARS or Youth Training plus experience can be a substitute
Two years supervisory experience
Experience working with adolescents from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds
Experience with culturally relevant service delivery
Valid Washington State Driver’s License, insurance and good driving record
Ability to drive program van
Proven ability to work with diverse populations effectively
