We Deliver Healthcare! Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) is the national association representing primary, full-service healthcare distributors, including national and regional companies. Eighty percent of prescription medicines sold in the United States are stored, managed and delivered by our innovative member companies.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will develop, manage and implement communications strategies and programs in support of HDMA’s mission and objectives. Identify and leverage appropriate organization and industry channels to effectively communicate HDMA’s positions, policies, and goals. Direct targeted public affairs and public relations programs on Capitol Hill, in the states, and across the healthcare supply chain. Responsible for issues management programs, national and state media relations, and crisis management plans. Direct marketing campaigns for national conferences, seminars, and industry publications. Advise senior management on messaging, policies, and issues positioning to ensure that communications are clear, concise and effective in producing positive results. Provide leadership and manage staff to deliver high quality communications products and services. Oversee and prepare executive speeches, presentations, Board presentations, white papers, talking points, and other external marketing and communications program elements, to meet the association’s strategic objectives. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications.

Additional Qualifications:
College degree (B.A or B.S.) in public relations, communications or journalism, ten years experience directly related to public relations, with at least five years demonstrated management experience in public relations, marketing or communications. Healthcare background a plus. Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, schedule and track projects through the various stages of production. Knowledge of print communications and offset printing, and ability to work with graphic designers and printers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding and demonstrated skills in writing and editing for a variety of audiences. Knowledge of the systems and procedures involved in operating effective PR and marketing campaigns. Computer literate in Windows environment. Strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels of association staff, vendors, members, and other publics.
