Byte Back was founded in 1997 by Glenn Stein, a community leader and computer professional. He realized that while reliance on computers was beginning to dominate the workplace, training for unemployed, underemployed and low-income people was lagging far behind. Recruiting technical and teaching volunteers, Byte Back began providing hands-on computer training to interested youth and adults.
