The Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Budget Operations and Earned Income, and will work with the department heads of earned income areas to monitor the results of their financial plans; become knowledgeable about the systems in use in those areas, reconcile the earned income systems results to the general ledger; and prepare appropriate financial and other analytical reports as required.
Working closely with the heads of Visitor Services, Membership, Group Tours, Publications, Retail, Marketing and Continuing Education, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for creating quarterly profit and loss statements, variance reports, and division-specific reports such as inventory analyses and revenue and expense reports. He/she must develop a working knowledge of the systems in each earned income area in order to reconcile system outputs to the general ledger. The Financial Analyst will develop other financial and non-financial reports as required and, together with the department heads, will develop financial and non-financial benchmarks for tracking and evaluative purposes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of financial analysis experience; excellent computer skills including advanced Excel spreadsheet ability and other analytics; excellent communication skills; and demonstrated ability to work well with a wide variety of people. Retail experience; knowledge of accounting and accounting software; experience with MAS 500 and FRx a plus.
