This position will serve as the team leader for the billing coordinators. This position will be responsible for peer-to-peer coaching and training. The Team Leader will assist the billing manager in handling the more complex tasks and issues in the Billing Department. The expectation is that the candidate performs independent analytical work and monthly billing tasks.
Essential Duties:
Coordinate the billing process with Billing Manager to meet the billing deadline.
Analyze the outstanding claims in the Practice Management System, and follow up with corresponding payers.
Handle the areas of secondary billing and rejections, follow-up, and resubmission
Other billing tasks including but not limited to: correspondence, phone inquiry and interaction with different levels of staff for accurate billing data

Effective written and oral communication are required
Experience and Education:
High school degree/GED with two years medical billing, coding, insurance rules and regulations experience OR college degree with one year work experience required. Experience using a billing software package, knowledge of Medicaid pay process and rejected claims submission preferred
