PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, seeks a Research Associate to provide in-depth research on a variety of issues. Responsible for identifying, analyzing and incorporating information relevant to ongoing campaigns, including requesting, discovering, and examining technical papers, attendance at scientific conferences, and communication with scientists and experts on issues relating to casework. Successful candidate will have proven research, writing, and organizational skills and familiarity with technical/scientific terminology. B.A./B.S required.

Must have experience in the following areas:
• Research and interpret a variety of animal protection issues to further PETA’s cause, primarily as it relates to animal testing required by regulatory agencies both in the U.S. and abroad
• Obtain the necessary data for factsheets, white papers, reports, and other correspondence
• Attend scientific conferences and communicate with scientists regarding issues relating to casework
• Work with government agencies on toxicity testing issues
• Develop expertise in non-animal test methods
