The employer is an international consumer products company involved with the manufacture and distribution of beauty products. The role is for an International Director or Finance located in the NYC headquarters. Great opportunity and lots of visibility for the right person. Responsibilities:
Direct all internal and external financial reporting and analysis for the Specialty Group international business including budgeting, strategic planning, monthly closing and monthly estimates.
Provide comprehensive service and support to the internal personnel, in addition to advising and supporting international affiliates.
Manage all aspects of monthly estimate reporting for the International Specialty Group business.
Prepare monthly close for the international departments.
Monitor departmental expense accounts, identify trends and provide analysis.
Review monthly financial submissions from international affiliates, identifying and questioning variances from Plan, Prior Estimate and Prior Year.
Prepare annual strategic plan, financial plan and VFB submissions for the International business.
Attend international budget meetings. Review and challenge budget proposals. Work with affiliates to develop annual budget and biannual VFB submissions.
Review monthly financial submissions from international affiliates, identifying and questioning variances from Plan, Prior Estimate and Prior Year.
Issue monthly reporting packages to European and Pacific regional marketing heads.
Working with Marketing and Operations finance, analyze, review and approve cost of goods on all new and existing products.
Analyze global cost of goods percentages, identifying variances from Plan and Estimate, and recommending corrective action.
Working with Marketing and International Pricing Group, analyze worldwide pricing and make recommendations for change as appropriate.
Work with Marketing, Marketing Services and Sales to monitor global inventory levels, including months cover and excess inventory.
Coordinate preparation of the quarterly Investor Relations Report.
Establish and maintain international retail sales tracking system.
Prepare launch P&Ls and analyze new market opportunities for the Specialty Group.
Track global capital projects.
Prepare inter-company royalty reports.
Track capital projects.
Complete special projects as required.
Qualifications:
Position requires 8+ years of previous work experience in accounting and/or finance in the retail industry with an international corporation.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a part of a team as needed.
Must possess personal computers/systems skills including: working knowledge of Hyperion access, ABP, Oracle.
