The Food Bank For New York City, in conjunction with its subsidiary organization, FoodChange, works to end hunger and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers through a range of programs and services that focus on nutrition, education and financial empowerment.
The purpose of this position is to develop new and enhance existing nutrition education programs and training curricula ensuring lessons are culturally and developmentally appropriate and based on proven theory and current educational pedagogy. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for managing curriculum staff and will work closely with the evaluation team to conduct research, needs assessments and evaluation strategies to inform curricula and monitor program effectiveness. Working within a fast paced environment, this position requires an individual with a solid understanding of curriculum development, training and implementation for diverse age groups and learning styles, substantial management experience and the ability to work and communicate with a variety of audiences.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement strategic plan for the creation of program and training curricula, including standardizing development protocol, curriculum implementation, evaluation and publishing.
- Manage curriculum development process for new and existing education programs including needs assessment, content creation, training and evaluation of materials.
- Research best practice models to ensure curricula is culturally and developmentally appropriate and is based on proven theory and current educational pedagogy.
- Manage curriculum development staff and provide guidance and expertise throughout the curriculum research and development process.
- Coordinate and maintain relationships with experts in the education and nutrition sectors.
- Assist with curriculum trainings and workshops for educators and program leaders.
- Work with evaluation staff to develop curriculum-based process and outcome evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness of nutrition education programs.
- Conduct direct observations of educational programs and participate in focus groups to guide enhancements and adjustments to program and training curriculum.
- Serve as an organizational representative at external meetings and forums.
- Work with internal staff and outside consultants to design, layout and publish curricula.
- Additional duties as assigned.

| Req. candidate profile : |
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in curriculum development, education or related field required.
- Three to five years direct experience with curriculum development, including implementation, training and evaluation, preferably in the area of poverty. Background in curriculum development for diverse age groups and learning styles, in both classroom and community settings preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the flexibility to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience providing trainings and public speaking preferred.
- Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus.
- Proficiency in all MS office applications required. Experience with Quark or other publishing software a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.
