College track is an after-school, college preparatory program that helps students from under-resourced communities in the Bay Area graduate from high school and succeed in college.
Responsibilities:
Report to the Academic Affairs Director.
Oversee the Tutoring room on a daily basis.
Maintain an efficient learning environment at all times.
Coordinate and manage tutors and ensure quality of instruction.
Maintain/Monitor all attendance records and report absences to Academic Affairs Director.
Assist with scheduling and Case Management and Tutor/Student Match up.
Working closely with the Director of Academic Affairs, develop competency-based approach to hiring and training of tutors and standards based instructors.
Help recruit and train tutors and special instructors.
Help maintain up-to-date student academic records and folders.
Act as a liaison between tutors and Academic Affairs Director.
Enforce clear guidelines and rules for student behavior and tutoring room expectations.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of the Tutor Handbook.
Creation of a bi-annual tutor appreciation event.
Assist with Tutor observations/evaluations and feedback sessions.
Maintain Academic Recognition board and Tutoring Room Bulletin board.
Assist with processing new employees, ensuring all hiring documents are completed and submitted to HR
Payroll: ensure all academic employees complete and submit timesheets, distribute payroll checks
Prepare status reports and presentations on students’ academic progress, as requested.
Monitor and track daily tutoring attendance of students.
Track and report student performance against site’s academic goals.
Update and maintain accurate information using the Academic Affairs Program database.
Meet regularly with the Director of Academic Affairs to review student performance and discuss altering academic services.
Ensure upkeep of the appearance of Academic Affairs program work areas.
Req. candidate profile :
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree. Preferred, but not required, previous experience as a Tutor Program Coordinator.
1 yr. Minimum experience working with middle/high school students.
Tutoring experience required.
Good Classroom Management Skills.
Knowledge of Data Software (SPSS preferred, but not required) and Excel a plus.
Great Organizational Skills.
Experience with scheduling and record keeping.
Great personal skills.
Ability to create effective tutor/student mentorships.
