Youth Service America seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and dynamic individual to work with the Global Youth Service Day team.YSA is seeking a Global Youth Service Day Assistant who will work with the Vice President of Global Youth Service Day, Manager of Global Youth Service Day and the Global Youth Service Day team to coordinate logistical and planning aspects of the Youth Service Institute.
Responsibilities:
Travel arrangements, participation registration, and payment
Recruitment of speakers, preparation of event materials, and event branding
Promotion of the event and recruitment of exhibiters
Shipping of supplies and A/V needs
Other clerical and administrative tasks as needed
While planning for the Institute is the first priority for this position, the Assistant may work on other areas of Global Youth Service Day should time permit:
Promote grant opportunities and grant winners
Write profiles of service projects
Track service projects and work with technology team to post them on-line
Disseminate project planning tools and resources
Write and edit a variety of tip sheets on issues related to planning large service events
Provide ongoing technical assistance and field inquiries from the public
Req. candidate profile :
Applicants should have:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
An interest in event planning and youth service
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and as a team player
