Job description: My Sister’s Place, Inc. (MSP) is a community based non-profit organization that provides comprehensive and holistic direct services via intervention, prevention, educational programs and services to battered women and their children. The position of Grants Manager reports directly to the Finance Director who in turn reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

My Sisters Place, Inc. is seeking a Grants Manager with accounting experience to join our dynamic team. The individual in this challenging full-time position (40 hours a week) will be responsible for: human resource management and all standard financial accounting functions of the company including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, time and expense, bank reconciliations, billing, payroll processing, monthly close reports, and other general accounting functions and other duties as assigned. In collaboration with the Finance Director, this position is responsible for the development of the organization’s financial policies and procedures.

The grants manager works in collaboration with the Finance Director to ensure that the organization’s financial business process and internal environment are effective and efficient. The grants manager is responsible for managing cash and credit management processes and procedures for the organization. Participates in the preparation of budgets & in collaboration with the Finance Director, she/he manages the audit process for our organization, as well as the relationship with our external auditors. Oversee grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines (prepare the necessary grant reports to provide a full accounting of grants received and use of funds). The individual in this position must be committed to the highest standards regarding general accounting functions and departmental as well as interdepartmental cooperation. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Req. candidate profile : Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Accounting degree with 5–7 years of experience in accounting.
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Peachtree Accounting.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized personality.
  • Ability to consistently and diplomatically enforce financial policies.
