Provide insight and expertise for NASA propulsion related design projects. Lead NASA designs projects from concept to drawing release. This includes generating innovative concepts based on customer requirements and conveying these concepts to the designer and monitoring the design through the drawing release process. Perform peer review on other designs to assure requirements are met and recommend design improvements where necessary.
Job duties:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 15 years applicable experience is required. Must have relevant experience with NASA design standards and processes. Must have expertise in the area of structural, mechanical and propulsion related flight and test hardware in the NASA environment. Must have ability to apply Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard according to ASME Y14.5M-1994 to detail drawings. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong team commitment and customer relations skills are also required.
