Develop DELMIA computer simulations of the Ares I manufacturing process. Provide spatial analyses, prepare and make presentations, and document results in technical reports, databases, and other appropriate means. Analyze complex features of the work and apply manufacturing engineering principles and practices or devise new approaches in problem solutions. Perform process planning, linking DELMIA manufacturing simulations with a manufacturing execution system to schedule and optimize work flow. Thoroughly review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
Job duties:
BS degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years applicable experience is required. Experience with manufacturing processes and plant layout (ideally aerospace, automotive manufacturing or ship building) is required. Experience with DELMIA software (preferably DELMIA V5, but DELMIA D5 is acceptable) and some computer-aided design (CAD) experience with three-dimensional solid modeling is required.
