Plan, schedule and perform computations/analyses, prepare and make presentations and document results in technical reports under the supervision of senior engineers. Perform structural dynamic analyses in support of the design and design verification of rocket propulsion systems and flight vehicles. Analyze complex features of the work and apply principles and practices of structural analysis, or devise new approaches in problem solutions. Review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Follow existing processes and procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate. |
| Job duties: |
BS degree (MS preferred) in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution is required. Experience in the classical vibrations and dynamics of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods is required. Familiarity with space flight vehicles, ground support equipment, and rocket propulsion system components is desired. Experience with the application of the finite element method to perform random vibration, coupled loads, and vibroacoustic analysis is very desirable, as well as, experience in dynamics testing. Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, MATLAB, and PCSIGNAL is desired. Excellent communication skills are required. |
