Job description
Job description: Payroll Clerk reports directly to Payroll Supervisor and Controller and provides overall support for day-to-day payroll activities. The person will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll and employee maintenance on the ADP payroll system.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Input data from time sheets or individual time cards to computerized payroll system.
  • Set-up and maintain employee information including retro pay, direct deposit banking information, changes of tax status, exemptions, deductions set ups and changes, child support orders, garnishes, levies and vacation payouts.
  • Review and match coding and process departmental worksheets’ for the payroll.
  • Ascertain that time sheets or time cards submitted match the worksheets submitted for payroll.
  • Process bi-weekly hourly payroll for all full time and part time employees.
  • Review and process checks.
  • Produce federal, state and local tax payments.
  • Balance payroll runs.
  • Support and back-up accounting department to handle special projects and data entry.
  • Answer employee questions and troubleshooting issues.
  • Assist with quarterly and/or yearly audits.
Req. candidate profile : Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent, with one year of working experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills, accurate, efficient and analytical.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity and compliance with office protocols involving dress, demeanor, record keeping, confidentiality, staff meetings, visitors, and employee use of supplies and equipment.
