Large non-profit AIDS Service Organization, offering a wealth of programs for people living with HIV/AIDS in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area seeks a Finance Director. Our programs include a clinic, education programs and youth outreach. We are seeking an experienced financial manager to perform all fiscal aspects of our organization in a “hands on” style.
The Finance Director is responsible for administration of the financial affairs of a $4.5 million nonprofit organization. S/he will have overall responsibility for accounts payable and receivable, coordinating payroll with the payroll service for 50+ full time and 15 part time employees, preparing and monitoring the budget.
Duties will include:
- Oversees and manages all financial functions for organization
- Provides accurate and timely reports enabling the Executive Director and the Board to maintain an accurate picture of the organization’s finances
- In consultation with the executive director, program directors and program staff, develops annual organizational budget
- Monitors the budget to assure that revenue and expense projects remain realistic, and provides monthly budget/actual financial reports to the board of directors
- Adjusts organizational budget to take account of any changes in revenue or expense projects for any reason but including new grants received, any cuts in funding, or other changes in the environment in which FIGHT works
- Manages the organization payroll through outside vendor, including timely submission of all required documentation
- Maintains accurate financial statements for the organization utilizing QuikBooks
- Produces organizational invoices for ~50 local government reimbursement based contracts with the City of Philadelphia
- Manages Federal government draw-down for ~5 Federal grants and cooperative agreements
- Provides timely reconciliation for all invoices and draw-downs
- Oversees all accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Supervises medical billing clerk to assure that billing is timely and compliant with regulations and insurance company requirements
- Monitors cash flow including line of credit
- Oversees petty cash, collection of co-pays
- Manages annual organizational audit with outside auditors
- Oversees and assures that adequate financial controls are established and remain in place to assure organizational integrity
- Establishes business relationships with outside vendors and service providers
- Maintains adequate communication with outside vendors and service providers to assure that problems are handled in an expeditious manner
- Participates in the development of new proposals and programs, including the preparation of new budgets and financial analysis of program impacts
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors

Qualifications:
- BA or BS in accounting, finance or related field. CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 3 years financial management experience in nonprofit environment
- Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks and Excel required.
- Knowledge of financial principles and practices of nonprofit organizations
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
