Capital Partners for Education (CPE), is seeking a Student-Mentor Coordinator to coordinate support for low-income high school students. Serving as a case manager to a segment of CPE’s student body, the Student-Mentor Coordinator will collaborate with CPE partner schools, mentors, parents and community partners to ensure that each student graduates and enrolls in college.
Responsibilities:
Develop strong relationships with students, parents, mentors, school faculty and community partners through regular contact and meetings
Monitor student progress and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to develop academic action plans and provide social support
Work one-on-one with students, parents and mentors to ensure students’ needs are supported as they move towards higher education
Assist students in navigating the college and financial aid application processes with the goal of 100% enrollment in college the fall after their senior year in high school
Help facilitate CPE’s new student orientation that prepares incoming students for the academic and social challenges of private high school
Collaborate closely with other CPE staff to organize and implement academic enrichment programs
Other duties as assigned.
Req. candidate profile :
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least four years direct work experience with at-risk youth
Excellent public speaking, writing, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in an organized manner while dealing with urgencies
