| Job description: | SECURITY ENGINEER
Security Engineer NEEDED to Provide subject matter expertise in the various information systems, devices and technologies present on military medical networks. Provide technical assessments of the effectiveness and appropriateness of complex software, system, and network security architecture, controls, methods, as well as supporting manual processes and procedures and risk mitigation plans. Additional duties include: • Assist various agencies in identifying IA requirements and specifications • Participate in staff assistance visits for data gathering, performing technical analysis, and documenting IA requirements • Conduct studies and preparing evaluations regarding the feasibility of using new technology • Provide analysis of customer requirements • Provide technical support in assessing the Warfighters information needs and develop the required documents • Base the need development on operational plans and a thorough knowledge of the Warfighter and warfighting, as well as on the current technology • Conduct product research and evaluation, reporting, and analysis on a variety of security related topics REQUIREMENTS: Should possess experience with most of the following but not all are necessary: firewalls, IDS, security hardening, systems configurations, network device configurations, access controls. |
