We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with solid dance and performance knowledge, excellent writing, research and communication skills. The Performance Program Director will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for all in house performances, NDG performance series, and NDG Company performances.
Responsibilities
- The Performance Program Director reports to the Executive Director (or in his/her absence, the Artistic Director).
- Responsible for developing ideas for performance series and showcases which advance our mission and artistic vision.
- Creating detailed proposals, expected budgets and procedure manual for current and new performances and showcases. Presents the proposals to the Executive and Artistic Directors for review and approval.
- Responsible for creating, implementing, administrating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of all NDG performances and showcases; in-house and in the community at large.
- Responsible for identifying performance spaces and booking the NDG Company.
- Responsible for soliciting and negotiating engagements for the NDG Company.
- Supervise, administer, and document the directives established for all current and future performances and showcases.
- Maintain, update and archive the performance space usage for all NDG performances and showcases.
- Research, compile, approve, archive, and monitor public information and reviews of all events.
- Work with the Marketing Department on ensuring the proper publicity and advertising of all events: performances and showcases, inclusive of press and VIPs.
- Resolve any problems which may arise with the performers and NDG staff or faculty, and report them to the Executive and Artistic Directors.
- Analyze the popularity, effectiveness and financial efficiency of all the events: performances and showcases.
- Develop events with the Artistic Director that promote the organization internationally and establish it as a world-class performance and showcase venue.
- Work with the grant writer/development person to ensure all eligible events are emphasized in grant applications and funding requests.
- Work with the Development person to ensure that all fundraising events are consistent with our mission and are properly organized.
- Work with the Development person to create performance series proposals which fall under specific grant applications.

Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of previous related work experience in NYC performing arts sector; or Master Degree in a related field with 1 year of previous related work experience in NYC.
- Through knowledge of dance and the performing arts.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Creative, innovative, resourceful and well organized.
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment and meeting strict deadlines.
- Outstanding research, budgeting, planning and organizational.
- Superior networking skills.
