Family Planning Council, a large, well-regarded not-for-profit agency in downtown Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in our Fiscal Department. The Accounting Manager acts as liaison with budget managers and oversees and provides support and backup to bookkeepers in Accounts Payable, Payroll and related function.
Responsibilities:
Support the Controller in reviewing program budget results with Department managers.
Identify and resolve fiscal and budget manager issues with allocations and expenses.
Verify the accuracy of the general ledger and the subsidiary accounts.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and vouchers to record interest, federal deposits, leases, payroll transfers and other adjustments to the bank accounts.
Review, approve and provide back up for preparing the 941, PA Unemployment Form (Quarterly), W-2’s for distribution, 1099’s and related quarterly and annual tax returns.
Perform monthly audit of petty cash fund.
Prepare and maintain prepaid, fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
Supervise the AP and payroll functions.
Maintain all relevant files, providing all necessary support and back up.
Req. candidate profile :
Requirements:
Must have a BS in Accounting.
Must have 7-10 years of computerized accounting experience.
Must have MS Window, Network, Excel, ADP and MIP experience.
Must have 2+ years experience in staff supervision.
