Responsibilities:
The Director of Programs functions as a new business development officer in support of the VP for TSPD and the New Business Development Unit. The Director, in collaboration with the VP for TSPD and the rest of the Technical Services Unit (TSU), will provide guidance and support for all cross-cutting and systems-oriented aspects of PCI’s new business development efforts, including, but not limited to, prioritization of target donors and partners, cultivation of key donors and partners, development, in coordination with the Communications Unit, of marketing and other program development support materials, establishment of program development tracking and analysis tools, and capacity building in the area of new business development and grant writing. The Director will serve as supervisor for the New Business Development Officer and will, in conjunction with the VP for TSPD, provide leadership for new business development efforts, including a major focus on Africa expansion.
In addition, the Director functions as a “Generalist Technical Officer” (TO) as needed and required by the workload and other situational demands of the TSU. In addition to serving as “floater” and support to the VP for TSPD and TOs, the Director works to ensure optimal coordination between and among the various technical areas of the unit, identifying and maximizing opportunities for intersection, integration, coordination and collaboration, while minimizing isolation and vertical programming. Technical areas of focus may include malaria, TB, maternal and child health, human trafficking, and water/sanitation, all areas currently uncovered by International Office (IO) TOs.

Additional Qualifications:
MPH or equivalent advanced degree; 6-8 yrs of relevant professional exp including international public health; Exp designing and managing complex programs within a non-profit or community agency, familiarity with US gov?t and other grant proposal prep and regulations; Excellent communications and interpersonal skills both written and verbal including ability to effectively communicate across cultures; Proficiency in Spanish pref. Must be able to travel internationally 10-25% time.
