Work in an exciting, empowering, and hope-filled environment where persons recovering from mental illness are respected and valued. Work in a small supportive office that is part of a much larger human service agency recognized as a national leader in employing consumers of mental health services and is CARF accredited.
Responsibilities include:
Job development, resume writing, on-going job support, anti-stigma education, benefits counseling, and more general advocacy on behalf of consumers of mental health services. The Employment Coordinator should be able to interact with employers in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Comfort in a retail environment is a key to success in this position. An understanding of the program's funding sources, the Department of Mental Health and the Mass. Rehabilitation Commission, is desirable but not essential.
The employment specialist will work weekdays 9 to 5. However, some flexibility in hours is useful. Outreach to consumers at various locations in the community is expected.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree, energy, flexibility, teamwork, organization, and a sense of hope and humor are necessary. Experience with retail, marketing, or another employment support agency would be most welcome. Proficiency of Microsoft Word a must.
