Job description
Job description: The Development Officer is responsible for prospecting, developing, and stewarding corporate, foundation, and tribal donor relationships. This position requires working in collaboration with other development officers and Fund employees and managing employees directly involved with corporate, foundation, and tribal fundraising. The goal is to collaborate to develop programs that donors and Fund benefactors find mutually beneficial.
Job duties: • Develop and implement a plan to prospect and establish new corporate, foundation, and tribal donor relationships with a goal of increasing the Fund’s base of support.
• Maintain and grow relationships with current corporate, foundation, and tribal donors with a goal of continued and increased donations from these funders.
• Re-establish relationships with lapsed corporate, foundation, and tribal donors with a goal of re-engaging their giving to the Fund.
• Develop an annual budget and a detailed written operating plan for corporate, foundation, and tribal fundraising.
• Throughout each fiscal year monitor the operating plan and analyze the results to determine if changes should be made to the operating plan.
Req. candidate profile : • Minimum bachelor’s degree with three to five years direct fundraising and grant writing experience.
• Demonstrated results in fundraising with proven track record.
• Expected to travel extensively to meet with donors and for other Fund related activities.
• Exemplary writing, communication, project management and computer/data management skills essential.
• Knowledge of grant program management.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
• Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office, Excel, Power Point and Raiser’s Edge (preferred).
• Ability to organize, manage and meet deadlines of project assignments.
• May be required to work some evenings and weekends
