More Than Words (MTW) empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, out of school, or who have mental health or substance abuse issues to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
The Café Training Manager will be responsible for the following areas:
- Overall management of café training program operations
- Serve as point person to manage communication with Starbucks for donations of coffee products and service of equipment
- Supporting youth managers with scheduling
- Creating systems for youth to market and promote the café including cross marketing opportunities with bookstore, etc
- Develop systems to ensure compliance with all polices and procedures
- Create a fun, creative, meaningful café training opportunity for youth
- Support the other staff, and especially the Transition coordinator, to assist youth with transition plans from MTW to other meaningful jobs and college.
- Participate as a member of the MTW team, helping to improve all operations and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate should:
- Believe strongly in the ability of youth to lead social change
- Be entrepreneurial, creative, self-motivated and a problem solver
- Have 10+ years of relevant experience, especially as a leader
- Preferably, have experience in creating system change with youth
- Have strong conceptual and analytical skills
- Have strong project management and problem solving skills
- Have strong interpersonal, relationship building, and facilitation skills
- Have solid written and verbal communication skills
- Be collegial and comfortable with working in teams
- Have strong ethical fiber
