Job description: We base our work on public opinion research in order build broad constituencies by appealing to deeply held values and concerns.

Job Description

The Mississippi River Campaign Program Manager will work with the Director of Communications, and the Executive Director to implement and expand our work in the ten-state Mississippi River region.

Program work includes:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with our Mississippi River partners
  • Plan, organize and facilitate meetings and decision making among the Mississippi River partners
  • Work with partners and other staff to plan and implement multi-partnered, regional communications campaigns based on established strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate multi-partnered, regional communications campaigns
  • Work with partners and other staff to develop communications tools
  • Provide communications training (in-person and online) for partners and clients.
  • Work with marketing consultants to develop communications materials

This position also entails working with the Biodiversity Project team on program development, grant writing, fundraising and evaluation. Work at the organization is highly collaborative and all staff work together as part of a team.
Req. candidate profile : Qualifications

Candidates should possess experience in coordinating groups or large multi-faceted programs. The Program Manager must have excellent “diplomatic” skills and be able to work with a diversity of personalities and organizations, and help guide the consortium to consensus. The position requires excellent writing skills as well as experience with public speaking and leading workshops or trainings. An understanding or familiarity of Mississippi River history, ecology and current issues is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree along with job experience in the field is required. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
