Free Arts NYC is an independent organization which provides under-served children with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate a Special Events Plan to support the strategic direction and long-range goals of Free Arts NYC.
- Plan and oversee all existing events and fundraising programs for the organization including Annual Art Auction, Young Benefactor Event, Board of Directors Parties and other third party events.
Analyze effectiveness of events and advise Director of Development/Executive Director.
Keep detailed calendar of all events .
Coordinate all logistics for events, including catering, décor, staffing and marketing details.
- Develop strategies to cultivate new relationships, events and partnerships that result in increased revenue and publicity.
- Create and monitor Special Events revenue/expense budgets and develop specific strategies and action steps to achieve revenue and expense goals.
- Develop thoughtful sponsor relationship guidelines that protect the organizational brand.
- Ensure the strategic integration of marketing/branding activities into special events.
- Supervise Development Associate, volunteers and interns needed for the special events.
- Oversee the design, writing and production of event printed materials including catalogs, brochures, flyers, invitations, signage and newsletters.
- Oversee PR firm for the annual event and additional events.
- Oversee outside consultants when necessary.
- Serve on Development Committee of Board of Directors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in special events management in the arts, fashion or business communities, with measureable success in managing events with a minimum of 500 in attendance. Demonstrated ability to work with very high profile, high net-worth individuals. Excellent references and portfolio of successful events and cultivating relationships with sponsors. Experience in marketing and public relations is preferred. Outstanding organizational capabilities. Superior creative written and oral communication skills. Creativity, innovation, self-motivation and an ability to organize multiple priorities required. Commitment to the Free Arts mission and values.
