Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Program Operations:
  • Evaluates and selects agencies providing services to people with intellectual disabilities to serve as host site facilities for the program
  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates volunteers in all aspects of the program
  • Evaluates and selects volunteer to serve as host site coordinators and sponsors
  • Arranges and attends regular meetings with host site coordinators
  • When appropriate, work with supervisor to perform annual evaluation of program
  • Oversees all day-to-day operations of matches in area
  • Provides on-going support for all volunteers
  • Plans and implements six group outings and two trainings per year

Recruitment:

Works with business and civic organizations to recruit volunteers

Public Awareness:
  • Solicits community donations to use for outings
  • Increases awareness of all Best Buddies programs through local marketing, public speaking and media initiatives
  • Works with supervisor on public relations, program goals and objectives, and coordinating relations between Best Buddies Citizens and the community

Miscellaneous:
  • Work with supervisor to develop and review quarterly goals.
  • When appropriate, works with State Director, Program Supervisor, and/or Director of Special Events on fund raising events as directed
  • Works with State Director or Program Supervisor to secure funds and donations through grants and sponsors for local/state events and campaigns as assigned.
  • Seeks support from local participants as needed for local/state events.
  • Completes necessary paperwork in a timely and organized manner, including but not limited to mid year reports, end year reports, monthly reports, weekly reports, and quarterly goals
  • Participates in monthly programmatic calls with Program Leader and staff colleagues.
  • Responsible to recruit, engage and train Buddy Ambassadors from the programs in the assigned region; ensure that qualified Buddy Ambassadors are provided with opportunities to speak and represent Best Buddies locally, regionally and nationally as needed
  • Travels as necessary to accomplish the above responsibilities
  • Handles special projects as assigned
  • Attends national annual program staff conference and annual Leadership Conference
  • At Leadership Conference, Citizens PM provide support to the HQ programs team, Best Buddies staff and conference attendees
  • Works evenings and weekends as necessary to complete assignments
