Vice President of Acquisition and Retention

Our client is the leader in telecommunications solutions for entrepreneurs. They offer a relaxed but goal-driven environment ideally suited to those who are self-starters driven to test the boundaries of online marketing.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Customer Acquisition and Retention will have the responsibility for all online and offline marketing initiatives, with an emphasis on driving new sign-ups and maximizing retention to secure referrals from satisfied customers. The primary responsibility of the Vice President of Customer Acquisition and Retention is to understand the entrepreneurial mindset and develop highly innovative off and online programs to attain revenue goals. Additionally, the Vice President of Customer Acquisition and Retention will the have responsibility to build a high-performance marketing team.

Primary Responsibilities

Establish strategic marketing vision incorporating a strong point of view on the evolution of brands and marketing with digital technologies
Segment the customer base and develop a brand and messaging strategy that provides a unifying platform for segment-based marketing

Develop on-line and off-line segment marketing plans with targeted messaging and communications to achieve brand awareness, customer growth and lifetime value, and revenue goals

Design and execute on-line and off-line marketing programs with specific performance metrics to acquire new customers, build brand loyalty, drive customer referrals and up-sell new value adding services

Manage the end-to-end customer experience leveraging the voice studio, website on-boarding, product enhancements, customer business intelligence, and up sell opportunities.

Collaborate with Directors of Engineering and Operations to enhance the customer experience, implement new product features and implement marketing programs on web-site and in call centers.

Build and manage a marketing organization of leading edge digital marketers experienced in achieving specific performance and ROI targets

Engage and effectively leverage
marketing agencies

Manage marketing financial metrics: budget, cost per acquisition, and lifetime value

Maintain in-depth awareness of leading and bleeding edge digital technologies and marketing practices

Position Requirements

College degree with an MBA highly preferred

10-15 years experience and leadership in organizations that drive growth in revenue, customers and lifetime value of customers with on-line marketing supported by off-line marketing programs

Deep understanding and experience with digital marketing tactics and technologies (e.g. display campaigns, search engine marketing, e-mail, viral, video, micro sites, and social media)

Experience with analytics and multi-variant testing and optimization including utilization of Omniture

Experience with off-line media and marketing programs (e.g. TV, radio, print, direct, and place based) to reinforce and complement digital channel

Development and management of diverse and matrixed marketing team, including staff, contractors, and agencies, to achieve measurable goals

Proven track record of driving measurable results in a fast-paced and constantly evolving market and environment

Superior leadership and relationship management skills including financial management

Passion to exceed goals, innovate beyond best practices, and dominate a massive category and market

Ideal experience combines training from a leading consumer marketing company or agency with relevant entrepreneurial experience with a highly successful subscription-based consumer on-line company

Entrepreneurial orientation and a passion for entrepreneurs
