Job description: Job Duties included, but are not limited to:

Program Operations
  • Visit participants' job sites regularly, including employer/supervisor contact
  • Train program participants on-the-job
  • Advocate for participants' rights to equal treatment and pay from employers
  • Maintain positive employer-employee relations
  • Provide travel, training and/or assistance with transportation services
  • Perform follow along services to employed and stabilized individuals
  • Document all services in the participants' case records
  • Make sound decisions about participants' welfare on the job site
  • Responsible for following all established health and safety guidelines, ensuring the health and safety of participants, guests and individuals BBJ works with and supports
  • Additional duties assigned by Program Supervisor

Program Communication
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Program Supervisor
  • Maintain contact with families, support coordinators, and referral sources

Miscellaneous
  • Strive to develop natural supports for the participants on-the-job whenever possible and appropriate
  • Provide assistance in dealing with social security issues to participants and their families, including explanation of work incentives such as Impairment Related Work Expense (I.R.W.E.) and Plan Achieve Self Support (P.A.S.S.)
  • Under guidance of the Program Supervisor, perform job development for unemployed participants and maintain documentation of all services in the participant case record
  • Collaborate with Program Supervisor to introduce and intake persons referred to BBJ
  • Assist in marketing the BBJ program to employers, businesses, corporations, and other contacts
  • Assist with fundraising and grant writing when necessary
  • Refer participants to other community-based services as needed.
Req. candidate profile : Job Requirements:
  • One to Two years experience in job coaching and/or job development with individuals with intellectual disabilities required
  • Bachelor's Degree in social services
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity and strong work ethic
  • Clean driving record and Automobile with applicable insurance (specific coverage limits required).
