Job description
Job description: The Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) is looking for a Director of Finance who will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work in New York City.

CHCANYS Director of Finance Duties:

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements for CHCANYS finance committee meetings
  • Develop all program and contract budgets
  • Develop, prepare and present CHCANYS annual budget and accompanying schedules
  • Provide CHCANYS senior management with real-time, up-to-date financial status reports (cash reports, A/P and A/R schedules)
  • Provide CHCANYS senior management with financial analyses and reports (e.g. forecasts; trends; variances)
  • Provide CHCANYS senior management with regular and updated expense to budget reports for each program area
  • Create system for maintaining status on all contractual and grant reporting requirements and insure CHCANYS is up to date and current on all contractual reporting requirements and vouchering
  • Supervise and direct Accounting Manager in all duties associated with accounts receivables and payables
  • Supervise and direct Accounting Manager in performing monthly bank reconciliations for CHCANYS bank accounts
  • Supervise and direct Accounting Manager in providing all necessary financial reporting to federal, city and state agencies, as well as private foundation funders, as needed
  • Supervise and direct Accounting Manager in creating and analyzing account fund reports, as needed
  • Supervise and direct Accounting Manager in maintaining CHCANYS accounting records
  • Prepare all schedules for annual fiscal and A133 program audit
  • Conduct other duties as assigned to fulfill CHCANYS mission
Req. candidate profile : Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • At least seven years of experience in non profit accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Quickbooks
  • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of people
  • Good analytical and people skills
  • Excellent financial analysis skills
  • Willingness to learn about the financial operations of health centers
