The Senior Accountant is responsible for developing and managing all the financial and accounting functions. This includes internal and external reporting, account payables / receivables, ADP Payroll, assisting in planning and forecasting, managing the external audit process, and all other aspects of financial management and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing financial and accounting policies and procedures and implementing changes, as appropriate, to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s accounting operations.
- Coordinate data processing, accounting, bookkeeping functions, and oversee and check maintenance of all company financial records.
- Review all accounting entries for accuracy and perform journal entries when necessary.
- Supervise the account receivable function including deposits, invoicing, and collections.
- Responsible for reconciling all bank statements.
- Review vouchers and process account payables.
- Process and monitor the organization’s payroll using ADP.
- Close financial months and years.
- Assist with the annual budget process.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for individual programs and grants.
- Monitors financial aspects of grants.
- Administer the company’s 403(b).
- Work closely with senior staff to align operational financial requirements with budget.
- Facilitate annual audit and tax reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in negotiating leases and contracts as necessary.
- Review insurance needs relevant to the company’s needs.

Qualifications:
College degree and a minimum of five years experience required. People-oriented, outgoing and an energetic person who can multi-task. Must have strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office. Effective written, verbal, listening and customer service skills. Dependable, strong team player. Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information. Position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to responsibility for moving tasks forward while seeking support when appropriate. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Previous non-profit experience desired, but not required. Successful candidate must be able to lift a 40lb. Box and have a California Class C Driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
