Non-profit student association seeks ORGANIZER for Lane Community College student government in Eugene, OR.
Principal Duties:
Training and skills development of ASG members and student groups.
Presentations on campus about OSA events, activities and services.
Briefings on campus about current issues affecting students in the public policy arena.
Recruit, train and motivate students in organizing, research and advocacy.
Help students organize effective research projects, shared governance participation, educational events and grassroots campaigns on campus and in the community.
Assist with the coordination of media outreach and publicity events to build awareness and support for the Associated Students and OSA.
Build strong relationships with administrators, faculty and other student organizations.
Active participation in organizational fundraising.
Req. candidate profile :
Minimum Qualifications:
Understanding of grassroots organizing and electoral organizing.
Experience working with student government on a college level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, out-going and detail-oriented.
Willingness to work evenings weekends and travels.
Ability to work with (experience preferred) low-income communities, students of color, students from the LBGTQ community, and non-traditional populations, including students from age 16 to 60+.
