Massachusetts Promise Fellows deliver the resources that young people need to be successful in life by mobilizing and organizing community activity, creating and leading powerful initiatives, and training and inspiring citizen volunteers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building partnerships with other youth programs within Greater Boston, as well as across the state
- Creating and maintaining the Youth Advisory Group for tobacco prevention by recruiting, training, and working with youth in East Boston and the Harbor Communities of Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop
- Working with two Greater Boston area substance abuse coalitions to integrate youth into their coalitions
- Travel at least once/month for Fellowship meetings, retreats and training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- An interest in national and community service
- The desire to work with diverse constituencies
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to network and communicate with citizen groups and community agencies
- Interest in public health, youth development, public speaking, community organizing, media advocacy, and substance abuse prevention
- US Citizen, US National or Permanent Resident Alien.
