Job description
Job description: This position will provide leadership and assistance for achieving goals related to United Way’s community impact and community building strategies and plans. Provide oversight and leadership to the community investment process, including coordination of training activities, volunteer recruitment, and process logistics.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
  • Serves as the United Way lead in coordinating the community investment process/allocations to agencies with a focus upon the activity’s logistics, including the recruitment and support of volunteers, organization of materials and records, and preparation of reports for staff, volunteers, and agencies.
  • Evaluates and measures community impact/building achievements through an analytical process that defines the desired outcome measures, incorporates community needs and assets information, provides a continuous comprehensive system for measuring progress, and determines United Way’s impact on priority issues.
  • Achieves and maintains a strong understanding of outcome measurement principles and critical industry trends, instruments, and developments.
  • Staffs United Way’s Impact Councils.
  • Assists partner agencies in preparing for the investment process by providing technical assistance and guidance.
  • Coordinates new agency/program admission process and requests related to agency supplemental fundraising.
  • Represents United Way in various human service collaborations, committees, and activities.
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders, including business, government, foundation, and agency leaders.
  • Provides support and coordination of training activities for partner agencies, United Way and other nonprofit organizations.
  • Assists in community building initiatives and other special projects or initiatives within the Greater Union County Human Service geography catchments area.
  • Responsible for grant writing and contact management for public and private funding sources.
  • Assist with campaign activities, including information gathering for planning and marketing purposes and relationship development with assigned accounts.
  • Distribution of gifts in kind.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Req. candidate profile : Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated proficiency and skills in using Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to take initiative effectively prioritizes multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and work independently.
  • Understanding and application of outcome measurement/program evaluation and human services planning;
  • Experience working with and supporting volunteers
  • Well-developed technical and analytical skills related to human services planning and evaluation.
  • Ability to present information and data in written, electronic and oral forms.
  • Advanced computer abilities.
  • Proven track record in teaming with staff, volunteers and a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
