Job description
Job description: NEHI is currently recruiting for a Senior Health Policy Associate. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a fast growing organization and to make an important impact on regional and national health policy formulation. The Senior Associate will report to the Vice President. NEHI offers competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and coordinate programmatic and research activities in collaboration with NEHI staff, including Program Directors, Research Associates, Interns, Vice Presidents of Communication and Strategic Partnerships, and NEHI Vice President;
  • Actively participate in guiding the direction of the organizations work to achieve national impact and demonstrate value to NEHI members;
  • Maintain relationships with external constituents;
  • Conduct expert interviews with senior health care leaders; coordinate execution of high profile working groups, half-day expert panels and forums with senior health care leaders and policymakers;
  • Analyze and synthesize data, co-author health policy reports and presentations;
  • Supervise and mentor research associates and interns.
Req. candidate profile : SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong analytic and written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to think independently and critically about research scope and content;
  • Flexibility to work on a range of projects within NEHI’s agenda and meet deadlines;
  • Strong interest in health care research and its application to public and private policy;
  • Expertise with evidence-based research methods and tools, including literature reviews, interviewing experts in diverse stakeholder groups, conducting expert panels, synthesizing information;
  • Attentiveness to details and results.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate degree in Health Services Research, Public Health, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field is required;
  • Three to five years of experience in the health care sector (public and/or private) strongly preferred;
  • Demonstrated health care research, publication and presentation experience;
  • Supervisory and/or staff mentoring experience are preferred.
