The StreetLife Outreach Coordinator (SOC) will be responsible for managing a team of 20 part-time StreetLife Ambassadors, T.A.’s outreach team for block parties, rides and other car-free events taking place this summer, primarily on weekends. It will be the SOC’s responsibility to develop and execute an outreach strategy to maximize participation in these events, and to effectively manage the StreetLife Ambassadors to carry out this strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assisting in data entry
Representing T.A. at various public events
Promoting and marketing car-free events in New York City
Coordinating volunteers for Bronx car-free events
Distributing promotional materials for car-free events during Bike Month and T.A. rides throughout the five boroughs
Training and supervising StreetLife Ambassadors
Developing and executing T.A.’s outreach strategy and promotional strategy for summer car-free events together with the StreetLife Ambassadors
Assisting in the coordination of attended bike parking at car-free, Bike Month and other T.A. events

The ideal candidate is:
Outgoing and self-motivated.
A good communicator with the ability to inspire others.
Experienced in working with diverse communities and building consensus among diverse groups
Enjoys and knows how to effectively managing others to achieve common goals
An independent worker who is not shy of assuming large amounts of responsibility
Is comfortable with a non-traditional work schedule. Your hours will not fall within the typical 9 to 5, you MUST be willing and available to work most weekends from April to October.
Is proficient in basic Microsoft programs, such as Word and Excel
Able to ride a bicycle and/or willing to ride in New York City
Preferably bilingual (Spanish proficiency is a strong plus)
