Job description: Our client, located in St. Petersburg, is committed to excellence in everything they do and stands by their vision to be the premier provider of catastrophe-exposed property insurance, and to ensure they reach this vision they are looking to build a team of strong, motivated and loyal associates.

Summary: The Product Analyst is responsible for product performance analysis and research and development for various property insurance products in the company’s portfolio. The Product Analyst will support Product Management in meeting company growth and profitability goals. Product Analyst reports to the Director of Product Management. This position also has regular contact with the company’s vendors, as well as all other company departments.
Job duties: * Leverage IT and analytical skills to develop and enhance comprehensive product performance metrics
* Participate in periodic rate and product reviews
* Conduct regular, periodic in-depth loss analysis of the Homeowners and Dwelling Fire programs
* Assist Product Management in ensuring rate adequacy of new and existing products
* Develop and recommend strategies to enhance profitable growth of the company’s products
* Work with Product Management and the company’s actuary on all rate filings
* Working closely with Marketing, conduct market analysis for competitive positioning and rate making as needed

* Several years’ insurance industry experience
* Demonstrated track record of performing exceptional quantitative analysis
* Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Access, Excel and SQL or other similar applications
* College degree preferred
* Insurance industry designations helpful but not required

Environmental Demands: The duties of this position are typically performed in an office setting. There may be some minimal road and air travel involved.

Physical Requirements: This position requires minimal physical exertion. However, in order to properly perform the functions of the job, good speaking and hearing skills are required.

Mental Requirements: Skills necessary for the effective performance of this position’s job functions include: decision-making and analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving, oral and written communication capabilities, ability to fully utilize computers and computer programs.
