Acclaimed as the most beloved and successful Jewish community event in the Bay Area, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival is the oldest and largest Jewish Film Festival in the world.
The Marketing Coordinator is a four-month, part time, contract position, responsible for coordinating and implementing all event marketing efforts from idea phase to successful execution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of SFJFF’s Executive Staff and Marketing Strategist:
- Assist with development and implementation of effective overall marketing campaign to maximize the Festival’s presence and increase ticket sales and Festival attendance;
- Actively contribute to on-going marketing efforts directed at teen/20’s/30’s market segment via lead role in developing pre-Festival and run of Festival promotional events to help encourage increased participation and involvement from this audience segment with the SFJFF;
- Coordinate and implement above events, including event logistics and execution of appropriate marketing strategies aimed at particular audiences, i.e. guerrilla, viral and cross-promotional marketing;
- Create master calendar for all marketing activities;
- Work with Program Director and Community Outreach Coordinator to conceptualize and create a targeted community marketing plan for individual films and programs;
- Coordinate above plans, including community partnerships, creation and dissemination of targeted marketing materials, and free ticket give-aways;
- Support Marketing Strategist as necessary with media buys and media sponsorship implementations, including ad trafficking, and fulfillment of sponsor benefits;
- Research and recommend potential list trades/buys;
- Implement communications messaging plan;
- Coordinate distribution of Festival Trailer to participating theatres;
- Develop distribution strategy for Festival catalog and guide;
- Assist with other marketing and promotional duties as necessary;
- Conceive and implement on-line marketing plan including blogs, You Tube, myspace, face book and cell phone communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event marketing/public relations essential;
- Experience with guerrilla marketing and viral marketing;
- Evidence of creativity, initiative, positive attitude, and sense of humor;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills;
- Proven success working independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent organizational skills and proven attention to detail;
- Fluency in PC based applications;
- Familiarity with Bay Area film, media and/or Jewish communities desirable.
