The New York Historical Society, a preeminent educational and research institution, is home to both New York City’s oldest Museum and one of the nation’s most distinguished independent research libraries The Society is dedicated to presenting exhibitions and public programs, and fostering research that reveal the dynamism of history and its influence on the world of today.
Responsibilities:
The Society has embarked on a large capital improvement project. This position supports all of the efforts of the Vice President of Operations, Director of Engineering and Director of Security & Maintenance on this three year project. This position has great lattitude and authority to work with individuals in the organization, governmental agencies and outside entities.
Req. candidate profile :
This position requires:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Careful attention to detail and experience in an office with accounting , office management , work order tracking, maintainance of files and digital archives, vendor and client relationship management, computer agility and excellent organizational skills and an upbeat flexible attitude.
The ideal candidate will have initiative and be a self starter.
Additional Qualifications:
4 years office experience, preferably with some in an engineering, fabrication, construction, environment or in an office where personnel came from the traditional trades.
Good business writing skills
At least a high school diploma
Initiative and a desire to make a contribution to an ongoing effort.
