The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is a world renowned and award winning choir specializing in after-school music education program for young people in New York City’s five boroughs. YPC’s mission is to provide children of diverse backgrounds with a creative outlet that encourages personal growth and artistic expression.
General Position Responsibilities:
Operational Specifics:
Schedule and coordinate all choral calendar events
Communication liaison to staff, accompanist and choristers including memos, calendars and informative mailings.
Maintain chorister’s registrations, attendance records and key updated contact information
Manage overall logistics with equipment and uniforms
Maintain safe, secure and legal work environment
Maintain configuration control with all music
Travel with choristers as a support staff
Personally carry & move equipment and luggage to/from stage and storage areas
Set up instruments, microphones, risers, etc.
Vendor relations for rental and/or purchases
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; benchmarks state-of-the art practices and participates in professional societies.
Req. candidate profile :
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
One year of successful experience performing technical/production duties including setting-up and operating sound systems, stage & house managing, and setting-up music ensembles.
Required Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail required.
A self-starter with excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
Exceptional organizational skills
Seasoned time management skills ~ ability to work well under deadline pressure and be able to juggle many projects simultaneously.
Strong individual: Able to lift instruments and equipment
Strong computer skills: MS Word, Outlook & Excel, Internet savvy a must.
