The director will oversee the assessment and evaluation of current programming and strategic planning and program development for a 5/10 (looking at incremental growth over two five year periods) year vision. The director will be responsible for engaging leaders of the partnering community organizations and building internal capacity among CMA staff. Responsibilities will include overseeing hiring, scheduling, marketing, assessment and evaluation, and program development. In this role, the director is expected to actively attend community events, sit on local committees, and be responsible for maintaining and building new relationships with community-based organizations. This position will ensure long term sustainability of community outreach programs and staff by overseeing and managing the strategic plan, as well as continuing to form relationships with NYC community organizations. This person will also research and develop new community outreach activities.
Responsibilities Include:
Promotes and builds relationships with outside organizations for early childhood and k-6 outreach. This includes schools and community institutions.
Project manages all ongoing outreach related grants.
Collaborates with Development Director on fundraising for outreach programs.
Oversees and manages the Community Outreach Program Associate (COPA).
Oversees outreach-planning sessions with interested schools, community centers and hospitals (coordinated by the COPA).
Oversees the evaluation and hiring of Outreach Teaching Artists based on the needs of the outreach program.
Oversees budgets for Outreach.
Coordinates outreach marketing with the Marketing Director.
Develops and launches Foster Care program.
Project Manager for Chinese Asian American Outreach project.
Provide general administrative support and help at special events(all staff members pitch in)
Req. candidate profile :
Qualifications Required:
Masters degree preferred
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
Knowledge of the New York Public School System and greater community.
