The Inner Resilience Program, a project of the Tides Center equips school staff and parents with the tools, skills and strategies to strengthen their own inner resilience in order to model these skills for the young people in their care. We support long-term preventive approaches to wellness and stress management that include developing the capacities of adults to nurture their own inner resources in order to better support their emotional health and growth. These approaches include residential and daylong retreats, after-school workshops and institutes, technical assistance and training, individual stress reduction sessions, and yoga classes.
Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Director.
Specific responsibilities of the position include:
- Organize and maintain Director’s calendar.
- Respond to general telephone calls, e-mails and written correspondence or direct inquiries as needed.
- Assist in writing and editing letters, articles, reports and presentations.
- Arrange out of town travel /hotel accommodations and contracts for Director’s speaking engagements and presentations.
- Assist with print, radio and TV media pertaining to upcoming publication of Director’s new book Building Emotional Intelligence, including press releases, interviews, and book party.

Qualifications:
- Minimum BA plus interest/background in education, non-profit management, mental health & wellness.
- Minimum 2-4 years experience serving as an administrative assistant for someone in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated strength in writing/editing documents, organizing, multi-tasking and setting priorities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills (MSWord, Excel, Power point, internet proficient).
- Self-starting team-player who is able to problem-solve quickly and effectively.
- Flexibility with regard to some evening and/or weekend hours.
- Prior experience with public relations and media a plus.
