The Executive Director is responsible for the daily management and administration of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. This includes overseeing internal operations and administration and acting as a catalyst for all major fundraising and external activities, as well as assisting with the development of the overall long-term organizational strategic plan. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the mission and policy of the Board of Directors, maintaining a supportive environment for guests, developing a strong staff and ensuring a positive image of the charity in the Chicagoland communities.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising
Spearhead capital campaign development and processes
Working with Director of Development, identify new opportunities for fundraising and work with Fundraising Committee to implement
Public Relations & Marketing
Serve as an ambassador for RMHC-CNI and attends community events.
In conjunction with Director of Development, manage PR firm and plan strategy sessions in order to create an effective annual PR plan that enhances understanding in our communities.
Maintain positive working relationship with Hospitals to assure on-going coordination and support.
Financial Management
Work with Director of Business Operations, Treasurer and accounting firm to ensure all business protocols, financial statements and reports are produced in a timely manner
Accountable for timelines of year-end audit and all budgeting process
Spearheads development of annual and 3 year business planning process
Program Management
Works with Director of Programs and Services to ensure :
All Ronald McDonald Houses operate per license agreement and maintain targeted occupancy and guest satisfaction survey ratings
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program is executed effectively and efficiently
The RMHC-CNI Scholarship program is executed per parameters
Board Support
Works closely with the CEO and Board President, keeping him/her apprised of pertinent aspects of the organization’s operations.
Support the Board in its policy and oversight functions and assure policies are implemented.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain positive working relationship with MOCNI.
Assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and agreements, including timely submission of required reports.
Maintain positive relationship with National RMHC.
Protect, support and enhance the Brand.
Carry out such other duties and responsibilities as the CEO may designate from time to time.
Req. candidate profile :
Additional Qualifications:
Master’s Degree preferred. Preferred experience with a non-profit organization in a senior management capacity for 5-10 years. Also, will consider for-profit experience. Needs to have demonstrated the ability to identify key strategic growth opportunities, create and execute a plan to realize potential and achieve results. Experience should include program development, management of staff and volunteers, public relations, fundraising, financial accountabilities for profit center and balance sheet and Board liaison.
