MDRC is seeking a technical researcher for its Young Adults and Postsecondary Education policy area. Technical researchers have the opportunity to work as part of multidisciplinary teams on current social policy issues in a dynamic and challenging environment under the guidance and supervision of leading public policy researchers. Some on-the-job training is provided; salary and title contingent upon experience.
Responsibilities:
A range of technical and nontechnical tasks, including:
SAS computer programming.
Data collection and cleaning.
Statistical and data analysis.
Writing technical memos.
Conducting literature searches.
Coordinating, writing, fact-checking, and documenting reports and proposals.
Req. candidate profile :
Qualifications:
BA/BS or masters degree in statistics, economics, public policy, sociology, psychology, computer programming, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of quantitative research methods.
Experience with statistical programming language (SAS preferred) or a demonstrated aptitude in mathematical or statistical reasoning.
Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
Strong research and technical writing skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
