Job description: Partners for the Common Good, Inc. (PCG) is a community development loan fund that serves nonprofit organizations and mission driven enterprises in the United States and abroad. Our mission is to promote economic justice by providing access to capital and by building sustainable, healthy nonprofit organizations that advance opportunities for low-income people. PCG has nearly two decades of experience successfully promoting innovative and emerging sectors within the nonprofit and mission driven enterprise field.

Partners for the Common Good (PCG) seeks a Development and Marketing Associate. The Associate will provide staff support to: (1) raise philanthropic and investor support; (2) reach and market its products and services to partner organizations and borrowers; and (3) ensure proper reporting to supporters and maintain information systems needed to support fund raising and marketing programs. The Development and Marketing Associate will report to the Executive Director.

Principal Responsibilities

Fund Raising:

The incumbent will assist the Executive Director in preparing and implementing an annual Development Plan.

Specific duties:
  • Assist in writing and preparation of grant and other funding proposals
  • Research government, corporate, religious and foundation funding sources for operating and program activities
  • Keep informed of PCG’s objectives and projects and match appropriate prospects
  • Develop proactive strategies to identify new prospects
  • Stay current with prospect research resources and technologies and ensure useful tools are integrated into the fund raising process.

Investors:

The incumbent will assist the Executive Director in preparing and implementing a plan to raise investor capital.

Specific duties:
  • Provide staff support to develop and expand PCG investor programs
  • Develop proactive strategies to identify new prospects
  • Coordinate preparation all investor-related documents
  • Prepare reports to investors and funders
  • Coordinate social impact reporting systems

Marketing:

The incumbent will assist the Executive Director and other program staff with marketing and outreach initiatives.

Specific duties:
  • Assist in coordination of marketing and outreach initiatives directed at potential lending partners and borrowers
  • Draft and coordinate production of all marketing and outreach materials to support funding raising, programmatic and other initiatives of PCG
  • Coordinate development of quarterly newsletter and e-newsletter
  • Coordinate special events and conference exhibit materials
  • Coordinate targeted mailings, press releases, advertising
  • Coordinate outreach efforts with local partners
  • Prepare reports to funders and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate special events (e.g. annual investor meeting, local target marketing events)
  • Update website content

Other Duties:

The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Req. candidate profile : Qualifications:

The position requires a responsible, mature candidate that is a self-starter, team player, problem solver and fast learner that can initiate and coordinate numerous activities with a minimum of supervision. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

The ideal candidate for this position should have:
  • Experience in marketing, communication, and/or nonprofit fund raising.
  • Experience in or knowledge of affordable housing, community development and/or community development finance fields
  • Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with or an aptitude for using information technology for outreach purposes
  • Attention to detail
  • An undergraduate degree and 2-5 years related professional experience required.
