Job description: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Director will be responsible for working with the Vice President to develop and implement a strategy to enhance member value, including a member recruitment and outreach strategy, management of a portfolio of member companies, and leveraging Catalyst knowledge/resources and technology to deliver member services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Relations and Development
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals and strategies to support the recruitment and retention of Catalyst members in the region

Establish annual member events program:
  • Lead team members in the development and delivery of regular member events
  • Work with content experts and marketing to ensure program material is developed and resources/technology are leveraged
  • Serve as senior point of contact in the region for members, target companies, media, external stakeholders/partners
  • Serve as Relationship Manager for selected key accounts
  • Work with other regions to coordinate a unified approach to serving global members
  • Maintain in-depth personal knowledge of Catalyst's areas of expertise and service offerings
  • As appropriate, develop key partnerships that enhance membership benefits and/or extend market reach
  • Serve as a spokesperson for Catalyst in a variety of venues, internal and external
  • Identify research issues/opportunities of interest to regional members and the broader business community
  • Identify potential opportunities for the Advisory Services Department to support member needs through strategic advisory engagements - Where appropriate, support and contribute to engagements under the leadership and direction of the Advisory Services Department
  • Develop a network of external contacts in the corporate, professional and academic communities
  • Support major corporate activities/events (e.g., Awards Conference/Dinner, CEO Summit)

External Communication/Speakers Bureau
  • Liaise with marketing/public affairs and Vice President in developing and executing media strategy and identifying/responding to Speakers Bureau opportunities
  • Deliver presentations/speeches to selected external audiences

Administration
  • Manage the operations of the regional office, including budget and administration and supervision of staff
  • Work collaboratively with staff from other departments, including ensuring that regional operations effectively leverage infrastructure and assets/support from other departments/regions
Req. candidate profile : EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

MA/MS/MBA preferred, along with 10 years or more of progressively responsible work experience in member relations/development, diversity and inclusion, event management, marketing and/or sales.

KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to think strategically, including identifying and executing opportunities to build Catalyst’s profile and membership base
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate organizational mission and enroll stakeholders
  • Broad knowledge of the corporate world
  • Strong management abilities, including project planning and oversight, problem solving, and ability to play a leadership role in a highly team-oriented environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all Catalyst departments and staff at all levels
  • Ability to represent Catalyst in a clear, effective and professional manner to senior executives
  • Ability to speak publicly to a wide range of audiences
  • An understanding of and commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a project team
  • Resilience and flexibility, ability to operate effectively under conditions of uncertainty
  • Personal computer literacy in a networked Windows environment
