Job description
Job description: Raven Drum Foundation provides direct service to at-risk youth, cancer patients, veterans and trauma/natural disaster survivors. Our mission is to educate and empower individuals and communities in crisis through healing arts programs, drumming events and collaborative partnerships that support global healing, multicultural unification and community leadership.

ob Responsibilities:
  • Community outreach
  • Cultivate partnerships with outside organizations
  • Organizational planning
  • Public speaking
  • Program creation, development, management, oversight, monitoring, evaluation and implementation in cooperation with the Executive Director
  • Coordinate, lead, direct and assist staff and consultants in program development
  • Teacher and consultant development, supervision and coaching
  • New staff recruiting, resume review/selection, interviews, orientation and training
  • Payroll - receive, review, verify, and submit invoices from teachers and consultants to accounting office
  • Program-specific and operational budget involvement (with input from financial officers)
Req. candidate profile : Education and/or Experience:
  • Attainment of a degree in administration of a public benefit nonprofit organization (or a related field). Advanced degree preferred. Five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience, at least three of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Some work experience in creative, arts, education, healing arts, nonprofit or related fields. Love of or interest in music and healing arts.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business/professional documents; write reports and procedure manuals; communicate effectively in both written and oral form; and, effectively present information to membership, public group, and/or board of directors.

Communication:
  • Communicates effectively with multiple audiences using a variety of formats; Great phone voice, upbeat and friendly.

Reasoning Ability:
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; exhibit independent judgment in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, procedures and policies.

Fiscal Management:
  • Principles and techniques of contract administration and negotiation, community organization, and fiscal and organizational management.

Marketing and Public Relations:
General principles and practices.

Computer skills:
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and Access, Photoshop or similar, QuickBooks or similar, typing at least 35-40 wpm

  • Typically, these skills and knowledge are the result of a combination of formal education in business, non-profit management, marketing, finance or related area, and several years of experience in increasingly responsible management positions. Prior experience in the healing arts or public benefit nonprofit sector or a related field will be very useful.
