Job description
Job description: The Rita Project Executive Director (ED) manages all national programs and initiatives and Rita Project’s “virtual office.” The ED is responsible for the overall maintenance and growth of the organization as well as the day-to-day operations of each city’s open art studios and other programs. The ED's two main priorities are fundraising and the strengthening Rita’s programs. Management duties include overseeing a team of independent consultants, interns, and volunteers. The ED will also work in close partnership with Rita Project’s Founder/Creative Director.

More specifically, The ED's charge includes:

Fundraising and Alliances:
  • Fundraising for the organization’s growth, specifically through growth of charity premieres, other special events and benefits, individual gift solicitations at the $5,000 and up level, and corporate donations/ partnerships.
  • Recruiting and retaining celebrity endorsements and other entertainment industry connections, corporate partnerships and ongoing donations.
  • Managing large-scale fundraising events.
  • Ensure tracking and stewardship of all gifts and partnerships.
  • Strengthen organizational relationships, create bridges, and form alliances with potential community partners.

Financial Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all financial duties, including working with bookkeeper to pay all bills, analyze monthly financial statements, and create annual budgets.
  • Work with accountant to handle all tax-related questions, requirements, etc.
  • Communicate with Board of Directors and the Board Treasurer about financial status and direction of Rita Project.

Strategic Management:
  • Working with the Board of Directors to leverage their skills and resources, provide strategic leadership as well as implement their vision for growth. This includes communicating regularly by phone and email and facilitating quarterly Board meetings.
  • Work in partnership with the Founder/Creative Director to realize the vision and carry out the mission of Rita Project.
  • Overseeing public relations, external marketing, publicity efforts, and all chapter communications (e-blasts, newsletters, etc.) in tandem with Founder/Creative Director.
  • Managing staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers to best use their time, talents and skills.
  • Creating and implementing new initiatives for Rita Project’s programs.
  • Creating long-term solution systems to build a national organization that operates as efficiently as possible and is nimble to continue national expansion efforts.
  • Representing Rita Project with Founder/Creative Director through periodic presence at key Rita Project events, presentations, and speaking engagements.
Req. candidate profile : Additional Qualifications:

Ideally, the candidate will have at least five years of work experience and at least three years of management experience including fundraising in a non-profit organization. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree is highly desirable.
