GIDC seeks a Business Solutions Coordinator to deliver business services to companies in accordance with GIDC’s contract with the Mayor’s Office of Industrial and Manufacturing Businesses as the Industrial Business Solutions Provider in the Midtown Garment Center. The companies served will mostly be apparel factories, though not entirely.
Responsibilities will include:
Solving business cases by making companies aware of all services, incentives and other resources available to strengthen their business operations. Services including financing, real estate assistance, marketing and accessing public and private incentive programs.
Active outreach to industrial firms in the Garment Center to find out their business needs.
Developing additional services specific to the apparel industry by working with other GIDC staff.
Organizing and leading educational seminars.
Reporting regularly to the Department of Small Business Services on activities and performing data entry as per contract requirements.

Applicant must be detail-oriented self-starter with the persistence and creativity to assist small businesses that operate in a challenging environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is an ability to understand and explain complicated government incentive requirements. Applicant must be comfortable interacting with a variety of people, including factory owners and City agency staff. Knowledge of New York business incentive and financing programs is a plus, as is Chinese or Korean language skills. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
